Travailing Resonance
Through this non-gendered piece, I explore the human figure in order to challenge discomfort and invite curiosity about the embodied experiences of trans people. Using cherry, walnut, and plywood this piece embodies the layers of our identities. Illuminated with neon asking for contemplation of ones own gender and the how they or another may navigate our society as their true self. Striving to capture profound facets of the human experience, I visually explore the intangible aspects of our existence. They delving into the depths of self-awareness, the complexities of gender and identity, the confines of physical limitations, and the weight of mental struggles such as depression and anxiety.
